Dancer and Teacher, Gloria Maria, is your Instructor. Gloria studied at The Academia
de Baile Flamenco de Manuel Betanzos in Sevilla, Andalucia, Spain; the National
Flamenco Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico; and for years under the guidance
of World Class Flamenco Guitarist, Juan Serrano. If you follow her helpful instruction,
you will learn how to do colorful, basic, beginning, technical moves that comprise
the Flamenco dance. This includes: "Compass" the rhythm or rhythmic measure of
the music; "El Macro" marking with a specific dance movement to the Compas; "Floreo"
expressing and marking dance movement with hands and fingers to the rhythmic measure;
"Llamada" a call or sign for the singer or guitarist to enter into the mix of
the number; "Brazeo Compas" circular, diagonal, lateral and vertical arm movement
to the Compas; "Taconeo" Flamenco footwork; "Pata de Mula" "Foot of a Mule, "
a colorful, hard foot step to the music; "Brincos" hopping as part of the dance

An intermediate Flamenco lesson
for men and women. The Gypsy Tango or Tango Gitano is a Flamenco dance
(not to be confused with Argentinean). Renowned Spanish Dance Teacher,
Ms Eva Amador, has choreographed the Gypsy Tango so you can see and learn
to perform it professionally. She has broken it down into its component
parts in a systematic and enjoyable wayfrom the Entrada (Entrance) to
La Salida (Exit). With the assistance of Flamenco Dancers, Reina Contreras,
and Ricardo Ramirez, you will learn how to perform the Taconeo (footwork),
Floreo (hand moves) including "Pitos", as well as Braceo (arm moves) that
are typical of the Tango. By breaking the dance down into its simplest
forms, this professional demonstration will teach you how to perform this
Flamenco Tango. When you master these moves, you should be able to perform
the Gypsy Tango at the intermediate to advanced level, depending upon

Basic
Flamenco Moves - A Flamenco Workout

This offers women and men a challenging opportunity to
learn authentic Flamenco dance moves while building up endurance and strengthening
hands, arm and feet coordination. It is choreographed into a systematic, effective,
artistic, professional flamenco workout, for both high and low impact.
It is broken down into three main workout segments. Part One - Warm up. The
program begins with a "Flamenco Floreo" exercise, essential to the
Spanish Dance. It also focuses on neck exercises, knee bends, ankle flexes,
lunges, and side stretches. Part Two - Footwork. Flexing the foot and striking
the floor with the ball of the foot, then bringing down the heel to make two
separate sounds - known as the Classic Flamenco Toe-Heel Step and Sound. Then,
you learn how to embellish the Toe-Heel dance steps with combinations of arms
and footwork. Part Three - The Spanish Jota. The Jota is the name of a Regional
Dance in Spain, with many variations. Learning and practicing the Jota with
us will help improve your endurance as it naturally requires cardio-vascular
progression. Ballet terms and techniques are used to teach these specialized
